Phil Leijten > My favourite part of the city - the Printworks (old printing factory converted into a huge entertainment complex), and Urbis (Museum of Urban Development) building.  This is the area where the IRA bomb went off in 1997 and completely levelled several blocks of the city - and sparked the regeneration of Manchester.
